LCC's Mission and Philosophy of Care

The Lutheran Care Network is a ministry of healing, hospitality, and community. Lutheran Care Center (LCC) at Concord Village is a licensed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in the heart of the Hudson Valley. Since 1998, LCC has been a Life Enhancing Community, providing residents with the medical, social, and spiritual care they need to live well and maintain their personal dignity through purposeful living. Although grounded in Lutheran tradition, we serve adults of all ages and faiths, offering highly skilled and compassionate care for both short-term and extended stays.

Founding Visionaries

Lutheran Care Center at Concord Village was the fulfillment of a collective dream. Lutheran congregations together with Dutchess County Interfaith Council, influential members of the community and Wartburg Lutheran Services researched the need and fundraised to make the groundbreaking ceremony on September 21, 1995 a reality.  The first residents moved in, three per day, late in August 1998.   Castle Court Senior Community Housing was constructed several years later.

Twentieth Anniversary festivities included a Service of Thanksgiving and a Celebration Dinner co-hosted by St. John’s Lutheran and First Evangelical Lutheran on October 13, 2018.  It was preceded by a gathering of some of the Founding Visionaries. Rev. Brian E. McWeeney (above 4th from L) is Director, Office of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs, Archdiocese of NY. He served on the original planning committee and currently serves on the board of The Lutheran Care Network, serving as chair of the Spiritual Care Committee, and on the Mid-Hudson Affiliate Board

Rev. Gail Burger served on The Concord Village & Kings Apartments Community Awareness Committee in her capacity as Executive Director, Dutchess Interfaith Council.
